Samuel Caro is a behavioural ecologist and physiologist at the CEFE. He is mainly interested in understanding the role of environmental factors in behavioural and reproductive decisions. In blue and great tits, he has studied the influence of photoperiod, temperature, vegetation development and social interactions on behavioural and physiological traits linked to reproduction. His work is mainly experimental, and conducted both in the field and in captivity.

Anne Charmantier is an evolutionary ecologist at CEFE. Her main research interests are focused on understanding the mechanisms involved in the evolution of adaptive traits, especially in a context of rapid anthropogenic changes (climate change and urbanisation). The long-term blue tit and great tit monitoring contributes to her research on local adaptation, plasticity, senescence, ecological genomics and sexual selection.

Claire Doutrelant is a behavioural and evolutionary ecologist at CEFE . Her research aims at understanding the complexity of the adaptive and evolutionary processes that explain and maintain animal diversity. In our blue tit project, she is particularly interested in the way individuals communicate, invest in reproduction, and mate. In 2005, she initiated the long-term monitoring of the plumage coloration of the blue tits being particularly interested in determining how social and sexual selections act on the coloration of both sexes and on the function of these ornaments.

Arnaud Gregoire is a behavioural and evolutionary ecologist at CEFE, Associate Professor (MdC) in Evolutionary Ecology at Montpellier University. His research activities are developed on two main aspects: animal communication/sexual selection (using blue and great tits as main biological models) and adaptive potential in urban habitats (mostly on great tits) understanding how individuals/populations respond to Human artificialization and underlying mechanisms using experimental approaches when possible.

Marcel M. Lambrechts is interested on the causes and consequences of nest design in Paridae, and works on the hypothesis that nest design is associated with biotic and abiotic factors or constraints. In his research he explores factors such as: nest-box design, climate and parental characteristics.

Denis Réale is a behavioural and evolutionary ecologist at UQAM, interested in the evolution and ecology of different individuals in populations. More precisely, Denis studies social and ecological causes and consequences of different individuals as well as the plastic and evolutionary responses of the behavioural and life-history traits of natural animal populations following changes in the environment.

Céline Teplitsky is an evolutionary ecologist at CEFE. Her research interests include mechanisms that promote phenotypic variation as well as potential for and constraints on adaptation through microevolution and plasticity.  In the blue tits, she is interested in the limits to the expression of plasticity in the context of global change.
